Highways UK 2026: Connecting with the highways industry

Last week, the team behind ConeRQ attended Highways UK 2026, one of the UK's leading events for the roads and highways sector, held at the NEC Birmingham on 14 and 15 October.

The event brings together professionals from across the highways industry to discuss challenges, explore new technologies and build valuable business connections.

Although we weren't exhibiting this year, attending gave us an excellent opportunity to network with new people, exchange ideas and catch up with some of our existing customers.

Connecting with the highways industry

Events such as Highways UK provide an important opportunity to strengthen relationships and meet professionals working across road maintenance, traffic management, infrastructure and highways technology.

For the ConeRQ team, it was particularly valuable to meet new contacts and hear more about the challenges businesses are facing across the sector. Catching up with existing customers was equally worthwhile, giving us the chance to continue conversations, share experiences and strengthen relationships.

These face-to-face conversations help us better understand how the industry is evolving and where technology can make a practical difference to day-to-day operations.

The role of technology in highways and traffic management

Highways UK brings together organisations working across a wide range of areas, including road network management, infrastructure maintenance, digitalisation and safety. Technology continues to play an important role in helping businesses improve efficiency, manage resources and respond to changing operational demands.

ConeRQ is a field management software platform designed to help traffic management and highways businesses manage jobs, schedule resources and streamline their day-to-day processes.

By bringing job information, scheduling and operational workflows together in one place, ConeRQ helps businesses reduce administrative tasks and improve visibility across their operations.

As the highways industry continues to evolve, digital solutions will remain an important consideration for businesses looking to work more efficiently and manage increasingly complex operations.

Looking ahead

We're pleased to have attended Highways UK 2026 and come away with new connections, valuable conversations and the opportunity to reconnect with existing customers.

Thank you to everyone we spoke to throughout the event. We look forward to continuing those conversations and exploring how technology can help address the challenges facing the highways and traffic management industries.
